- The assembly adopts the five practices with two amendments: every stop authority must report at the next gathering, and every backup must be willing rather than appointed as a burden. Records receive named custodians and an early-autumn review.
- The village retires the Hearthspeaker as a sole standing coordinator after the leader's final account. It chooses two rotating hearth conveners for the next season—initially Nessa and Beren—who may call and record assemblies but do not own domain decisions. The player remains alive, respected, and free to advise, but holds no exclusive office. This is voluntary succession, not elimination.
- A small courtesy delegation reaches Ava after the harvest emergency passes. Hazelstead and Juniper Fold exchange matching records of restraint through first frost while leaving the ridge strip, title, compensation, and permanent access unresolved.
- The dry-site trial remains deferred after its runoff cost; no tree or future household claim is created.
Opportunity costs and lasting consequences
Hazelstead gives up the speed and clarity of a single Hearthspeaker in exchange for rotation, public records, and harder-to-capture domain authority. The harvest is adequate but not cleanly abundant, and the woodland expansion question remains for people who can no longer defer to the player.
